Presentation Information

Technical Presentations

Summary:
Presentations, 15 minutes plus a 5 minute Q&A, designed to summarize the design, tests, and findings of research and development efforts. Topics may include any thermally related challenge or solution from the die to the facility level.

Event Times:
Half day parallel sessions from about 8am – 12:30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Key Dates:

  • October 12: Abstracts due
  • November 9: Acceptance notification from SEMI-THERM

Types of Presentations:

Peer Reviewed Paper
Authors wishing to present a peer-reviewed paper must submit a completed manuscript and include all elements of a formal technical paper (introduction, analysis, discussion of results, conclusions references). As part of the peer review process, SEMI-THERM reviewers may provide feedback on the paper and make suggestions for improving its quality.

See sample manuscript and template below.

Extended Abstract: Not Peer-Reviewed
Authors wishing to present research findings but whose papers are not ready for publication may submit an extended abstract upon which their presentation (and ultimately their final paper) will be based. The extended abstract should include an overall summary, sample figures, sample results and several references. It does not need to be a completed manuscript. SEMI-THERM reviewers will provide general feedback on the extended abstract. However, when the final paper is published in the SEMI-THERM symposium it will not be considered peer-reviewed.

Should the authors be interested in peer-reviewed publication upon completion of their manuscript, SEMI-THERM reviewers will be available to support the peer review process.

See sample abstract below.

Presentation Only
Those wishing to present innovative works such as case studies, research findings or product development may submit a Presentation Only Abstract that includes  the scope, content, key results, findings and conclusions. The presentation must contain compelling technical information and should not be a product presentation.

Note: Presentation Only submissions are not eligible for the Best Paper award or student scholarship awards.

When submitting your paper to SEMI-THERM, please indicate whether you are submitting an extended abstract or a peer-reviewed paper, otherwise known as a draft paper, or presentation only on the submission website.
